The Association
Open, independent, and run by an association
Coltivio is developed and operated by the AgriColtivio association, a non-profit association under Swiss law based in Braggio in the Calanca valley. The association is politically independent and pursues no commercial interests of its own.
Purpose
Its purpose is open, transparent, and sustainable agriculture. Digital tools should cut the administrative burden on farms and be owned collectively by farmers rather than by a corporation.
Open books
The books are open: the annual report, the annual accounts, and any pay the board receives go to the members every year.
Open source
Coltivio is open source. Farms are not the only ones who benefit: developers can build on it too. That keeps the app growing close to what a farm actually needs.
Your data
All data is stored exclusively on servers within the EU and subject to strict GDPR regulations. Because the source code is public, anyone can check at any time how Coltivio handles it.
Funding
Coltivio is carried by the membership fees of the association and by donations. No investor expecting a return, and nobody making a business out of your data.
